Show photos on a TV at the venue

Written by PixoShare Support

Turn on the TV slideshow and open its link in a web browser on a TV, a projector or a monitor, and your event's newest photos appear as they're taken. It's on the Pro plan, and you can use it during the free trial.

Turn it on

1. Open the event and go to the Sharing tab.
2. On the TV Slideshow card, turn on the switch in its top-right corner.

The TV Slideshow card switched on, with the switch, the TV Slideshow Link row with New Link, and Layout marked (link hidden here)

3. Open the TV Slideshow Link in a web browser on the screen: the TV's own browser, or a laptop plugged into the TV. The link ends in a short 8-character code, easy to type with a TV remote.

On the screen, move the mouse to show the fullscreen button. The TV needs internet, and checks for new photos every 15 seconds. Set the TV or laptop not to sleep.

What shows on the TV

  • The newest photos, up to the last 60, in a loop. New photos can appear full-screen for 8 seconds, with a New label, first. When several arrive together, some join the loop directly.

  • Videos play without sound, for up to 30 seconds (in Grid, as a still).

  • Before the first photo, a large QR code reads Scan for your photos.

  • With an AI effect, the TV follows your Guest gallery shows choice.

The TV slideshow in a browser: the event name at the top, the Scan for your photos QR code in the corner (blurred here) and the newest photo. Sample event photos.

The TV shows the event's photos even when the Live Gallery is off, so only put it where everyone may see every photo. To take a photo off, delete it from the event (see How long are galleries kept, and how to download or delete photos). It leaves the TV within about 15 seconds.

Change the look

Changes save right away and reach the TV within about 15 seconds.

  • Layout: One Photo, or a Grid of 3 × 2, 4 × 3 or 6 × 3 (Fill or Whole Photo). Also Time per Photo (3 to 30 seconds) and Transition.

  • Event Name at the top, with your Station Logo. A Header Image (1200 × 160, a PNG with a clear background) replaces the event name.

  • QR Code: opens the Live Gallery, and shows only while the Live Gallery is on (see Live Gallery: let guests browse the whole event).

  • Ticker: scrolling text along the bottom, up to 280 characters.

  • Footer Image (1920 × 120), Background Color, or Background Image (1920 × 1080, or 3840 × 2160 for a 4K TV).

Images are PNG or JPEG: up to 10 MB for the header and footer, 15 MB for the background. Layout Guide at the bottom of the card shows where everything goes.

Turn it off, or replace the link

  • Turn it off: switch off TV Slideshow, and the TV shows This slideshow is off. Switch it back on and the TV returns by itself within a minute, on the same link.

  • Link got out, for example on a photo of the screen? Click New Link, then Make a New Link. The old link stops working right away.

The slideshow also goes off if the event is deleted or your plan moves to Starter.
