Each AI photo costs 1 credit with a standard effect or 3 with a Premium one. You buy credits in packs, and all your events share them.
1. What a credit buys
Each effect shows its price, such as 1 cr/photo. AI photos are made at 1K size, about 1,200 to 1,300 pixels on the long side: good for phones, galleries and small prints, but not for big prints.
2. Credit packs
Pack | Price | Per credit |
100 credits | $10 | 10¢ |
500 credits | $45 | 9¢ |
1,000 credits | $85 | 8.5¢ |
2,500 credits | $195 | 7.8¢ |
To buy, open Settings → Billing, find the AI Credits card, click Buy credits, then Buy on a pack. Plans and the free trial don't include credits, and credits can't be refunded.
3. Which photos use credits
Once Enable AI transformations is on and a Campaign effect is chosen, every single photo your PC uploads gets the effect automatically. These use credits too:
Collages saved as a normal 4x6 photo. Choose your booth software's single-photo folder as your watch folder.
Test with my photo in the wizard costs the same as one event photo.
Regenerate This Photo charges the effect's credits again, after you confirm.
Photos you upload in the dashboard to an AI event. A box shows the cost first and offers Upload without the effect.
Photo strips (a 2x6 strip is too narrow for AI), videos and GIFs use no credits. If your booth sends strips, choose Originals + Transformed so guests still see them.
What guests see doesn't change the cost. While AI is on, every single photo is transformed, even with Originals Only. To stop spending, turn off Enable AI transformations.
4. You only pay for AI photos you get
Credits come off your balance when a photo starts transforming. If no AI photo is made (it failed after automatic retries, was Declined by the content check, or is the wrong shape), they return to your balance. The event's AI tab has Details → Credit history for this event.
5. Set a spending limit for an event
Optional: without a limit, your balance is the limit. In the wizard's AI step (Spend limits) or on the event's AI tab (Spending Limits for This Event), set Max generations (the most photos this event may transform) or Max credits (the most credits it may use).
Whichever is reached first stops new transforms. Raise that limit and retry the photos from the AI tab. Regenerated photos count toward the limit. Test shots in the wizard don't, but they still use your balance.
6. Running out of credits
At zero, the AI Credits card says "AI photos are paused until you buy credits." New photos still upload without the effect and show Out of credits on the event's AI tab. With Transformed Only, guests won't see them until they're transformed. Buy credits, then click Retry All Failed there.
7. Estimating an event before it starts
Photos you expect × credits per photo, plus a little extra for test shots and regenerates. Strips, GIFs and videos use no credits.
Worked example: about 300 single photos at a party, plus about 100 booth strips.
Standard effect (1 credit): 300 credits. Four 100-credit packs ($40) leave about 100 credits for tests and regenerates, or a 500-credit pack ($45) leaves about 200. About 9 to 10 cents per AI photo.
Premium effect (3 credits): 900 credits. One 1,000-credit pack ($85) leaves 100 credits, enough for about 33 premium tests or regenerates. About 26 cents per AI photo at that pack's rate.
The 100 strips: 0 credits.
Set Max credits a little above your estimate (330 instead of 300, or 960 instead of 900), so the event can't go over budget and regenerates don't leave photos without the effect.
Good to know
AI photos are made in the cloud: photos taken while offline are transformed after they upload (see Do I need internet at my event? What works offline).
