Save or export finished JPEGs into one empty folder on your PC, and PixoShare shares each one with your guests.
PixoShare doesn't connect to your camera. Anything that saves photos into a folder can feed it: tethering software, your camera's Wi-Fi or transfer app, or your editing software's export.
1. Use a new, empty folder for each event
Everything already in the folder is shared. When you click Start event, PixoShare uploads every supported file already in the folder, then each new one as it arrives. Photos left over from last weekend would go to this event's galleries, and can use AI credits if the event uses an AI effect.
No subfolders. Only files sitting directly in the folder count. If your software saves into a new subfolder per session or per day, turn that option off or point it at the event folder itself.
In the PC's Select watch folder step, click Select folder (or Change folder) and choose the event folder.
2. Save JPEGs, not RAW
Camera RAW files, such as CR3, NEF or ARW, are skipped. Shooting RAW + JPEG? Send only the JPEGs to the event folder. Editing first? Export finished JPEGs into it.
3. Pick how photos reach guests
Share every photo as you shoot. Save JPEGs straight into the event folder. Each photo shows up on an iPad connected to your PC within a few seconds, and uploads to the event's galleries. Every photo sent to this folder becomes available to guests.
Cull and edit, then share your picks. Import into your usual folder, pick and edit as usual, then export the selected JPEGs into the event folder, in batches if you like. Only what you export is shared, so use this if you want to approve photos first.
4. Treat the folder as an outbox
Don't rename, re-save or edit photos inside it. PixoShare can see a changed or renamed file as a new photo and upload a second copy. Edit elsewhere and export the finished file.
Don't move or delete files until they've uploaded. Uploaded photos leave the PC's Upload queue card.
5. On a Mac, or editing after the event
On the event's Overview tab, click Upload Media, or drag the files onto the photos. It appears once the event is published and has started, and stays until 30 days after the event ends. An iPad on PixoShare Cloud shows these uploads to guests. Printing needs the PC.
Before guests arrive
Take one test shot through your whole chain: camera, folder, iPad, then a text or email to yourself. If it doesn't come through, see Photos not showing up? Check these things in order.
Good to know
Other file types: the watch folder also takes PNG, GIF, WebP, TIFF, BMP, HEIC and HEIF, and MP4, MOV and WebM videos.
Fixing a photo that's already shared? Export the fixed version into the folder with a new file name; it's shared as a new photo. Deleting the original in the dashboard takes it out of the online galleries and guests' links. A sharing station that's already open can keep showing it, especially an iPad connected to your PC. Copies guests already downloaded can't be recalled.
