Install the driver, set the printer up once in PixoShare (about five minutes), and after that just plug it in and print.
Before you start: turn on Booth printing in the event wizard's Advanced step. Guests tap Print on an iPad on the PixoShare PC tab. With PixoShare Cloud or the Web Sharing Station, use Auto print (section 8).
1. Install your printer's driver first
Plugging the printer in doesn't install its driver. Download it for your exact model and Windows version from the maker's website (for DNP, DNP's downloads page), and install it with the printer on, connected and loaded with media. Until then, PixoShare shows No photo printer found on this PC.
Windows 11 check. In Printers & scanners → your printer → Printer properties → Advanced, the driver must name your printer's model. "Microsoft" or "IPP" means a generic driver that hides features like the DNP 2-inch cut: install the maker's driver and add the printer again.
2. Set up the printer in PixoShare
In Settings → Printing, find your printer under Not set up yet and click Set up (the printer can be off). Its card has two print sizes, both on: 4x6 photos and 2x6 strips. Only print photos? Switch 2x6 strips off and you're done.
3. Turn on the 2-inch cut for strips (DNP)
The printer cuts a 4x6 sheet into two identical strips. Do this once per printer:
On the 2x6 strips row, click Open printer settings.
In the DNP driver's window, open Layout → Advanced… → Printer Features, set 2inch cut to Enable, and click OK.
PixoShare saves this for strips only, so 4x6 photos still print whole. The RX1HS needs printer firmware 1.02 or newer for the cut. Other makers: see their guide for the cut setting.
4. Line up the cut (the test grid)
On the 2x6 strips row, click Test print, and compare the real cut with the grid's red dashed CUT line.
Cut too far left or up? Raise Left / right (or Up / down) by the gap, in hundredths of an inch. Ticks are ¼ inch, so half a tick is about 12.
White sliver in the corners? Raise Bleed a little (4 to 8).
Print the grid again until the cut sits on the line. Changes save by themselves.
5. At an event: one printer
On the event wizard's Printing step, the Printer dropdown already shows the plugged-in printer as Connected. Click Continue. Even with Not connected, Out of paper, Paper jam or Printer error, you can continue: prints wait until the printer is ready.
6. At an event: more than one printer
Plug in two or three printers. The Printer dropdown starts with All connected printers (2), already selected. For a printer under Not set up yet, click Set up this printer. Then click Continue.
Each print goes to a free printer of the right size, skipping any that's off, out of paper or jammed. If one stops mid-print, its print moves to another after about a minute.
Copies of one photo stay on one printer, unless you turn on Settings → Printing → Spread copies across printers.
A printer plugged in during the event joins by itself. To use only one, pick it in the dropdown.
Keep the same roll size in every printer you use for photos: PixoShare sorts prints by photos versus strips, not by paper size.
Same model? See Printing with two or three identical printers.
7. During the event: the Print queue card
The Print queue card on the PC's event screen shows what each printer is printing. Manage has Print again, Retry failed (N) and Cancel all queued. Photos reprints any photo, with the Copies you choose.
Printer not printing, or strips not cutting? See the table in Printing with two or three identical printers, section 5.
8. Print every photo automatically (Auto print)
Auto print prints one copy of every photo, with nobody tapping Print. Turn it on in Settings → Printing: choose the printer, switch on Auto print, and under What to print check Originals, AI transforms or both.
It prints from the watch folder while the PC runs the event with Booth printing on and this printer chosen on the Printing step, so it works with any station: an iPad on either tab, or the Web Sharing Station.
Start each event with an empty folder. Photos already in it when you click Start event print too, so a reused folder prints the last event's photos. Each photo prints only once, even if you stop and start the same event.
Too many waiting? Cancel all queued (section 7) stops them for good.
Never printed: videos and GIFs, and nothing in Offline mode. A size you've switched off, such as 2x6 strips, waits, and prints if you switch it back on during the event.
Guest prints: on an iPad on PixoShare PC, guests can still tap Print for extra copies.
